Hope this was helpful and you guys will try these too!!
I love making junk journals and ever since I bought my Zutter I just can't stop! Every time I see beautiful papers I have to make a junk journal out if it.
The Coast Box Secrets paper from Prima is just to die for. I am so in love with these and prints and the ephemera are just beautiful.
So here is my little "Journal of Secrets " and mind you is not little in respect to the number of pages it has and the tick away spots and pockets and tags and such.
We all love our charms! The possibilities for them are endless. Do you know how the tradition of using them on craft project started? In olden day people didn't have ready made stickers , die cuts or other pre-made embellies we have today!! So, they got creative and started to use what they have to embellish and add interest to their letters, diaries and journals!! These were the first beginnings of scrap-booking collecting letters and photos and tickets, and such in diaries!! People began to use broken jewelry and jewelry findings to adorn and embellish their pages!! And till date this practice has evolved where there are charms and findings created for the passionate Crafter!
Now on with my today's post and I am so super excited. I have had so many requests for tutorials that I had to comply and here it is!
Today is not just a post but a class!! Although you all are very creative and love your charms, but, this is a back to basic of how else to use your charms! So, you can get more from them and use them in not only your cards, scrapbooks and altered art, but in daily use things and make fun stuff for gifts ( Christmas is coming !! Hint! hint!)
Here it is my Charmed Class and if you have any requests and queries leave them for me in the comment!!
Of all the Prima papers I have worked with so far the Engraver Series was the first I had had the pleasure to create with me. Its is also the series I used to create my First Travel junk Journal that won the Travel with Prima Contest by on Instagram !! so, My love for this collection is special... I will always cherish it!! Its very special and very beautiful and its very me!!
I am back with may favorite papers making my favorite thing in the world!! Its been a while since I have made one of these especially in this size and i was dying to do a junk journal with these beautiful Prima Epiphany papers!!
It is huge 5 x 9, absolutely shabby chic and tons and tons of room for everything from photos to journalling to ephemera and memorabilia..
I am entering this baby in the ongoing "Sparkle with Prima Contest" over at Lulupu- The Craft Lounge. You can enter up to two projects and I just had to enter as many as I could . And to my amazement hey have graciously extended the contest by a week and so I could have this project up I cannot explain in words how glad I am and managed to finish it done well within time. I would have been very disjointed otherwise. This was possible only because the wonderful ladies extended the Contest. phew!!..
For the Sparkle I have used charms that are nice silver and sparkly and i have used a lot of them!! I was going for clean shabby chic look with minimal inking and keeping in mind the practical use as it would be in and out of a bag and written in and collaged in and drawn in sighhh...
And here it is...

This is the side view. I have like a ton of charms on there, for that extra sparkle:) .
I am back with a totally amazing project, although I do say so myself.. So, many of us wish we were born in Paris or lived there or even visited !! Sigh!!! I love anything Parisian!!!
And i love my miniatures! So, I have created a Miniature scene of a little Parisian Cafe! It has lots of little details see if you can spot them all. I bought this Lantern A few months back when i was doing up my house and its basically a candle holder , but I loved the Vintage old world charm .. It's been sitting on a shelf in my living room since then Till i had a light bulb moment and thought of transforming it into a Room Box/ Miniature Scene. I am entering this Project for the current Challenge at Try it on Tuesday - Handmade/home made . It's just perfect for it !! Although I do say so myself!!
Here is what it looks like.
And here is what I did!!

Supplies used
Darice Miniature Chairs
In keeping tune withe Parisian theme I wanted the Chair to be nice and bright so I painted it using some Fired Brick Distress Stain. I did 3 coats and used my heat gun between each coat to give it a aged look and wiped off here and there with a wet baby wipe.
Miniature Clock
This clock was perfect all I did was used some Walnut stain distress ink and inked it to get an aged and polished wood effect.
Miniature Photo Frames
These little frames are sea blue in color I used distress Paint in Picket Fence and i did three coats again drying between each coat with the Heat gun. And i wiped some of it off and then used walnut stain distress ink to get that weathered chipped effect.
And here they are with images glued on the back.
Eiffel Tower Charm
I just took off the jump ring and the little Paris charm from the loop.
Bird Cage Charm
I just pulled at the cage and the base came off! I popped in a miniature Parrot and used E6000 to glue it back on.
Miniatures I made
I made a miniature French magazine
The Legs of the table the table top and the shelf are made using leftover chipboard from other projects. They have been stained with Broken China Distress stain
PS:- You can do this in anymedium!! You can take a Shadow box or Tim Holtz configuration box or alter any old jewelry box as well.
