Hello there, crafty friends!

I have a quick project share for you--and again, it is Kaisercraft! This is my second guest DT project for Artsomecraft.com. If you have not checked out Ashmita's beautiful craft supply store yet, I absolutely recommend you do! 

I used a 12x12 paper pack and sticker sheet for this album (and again, used very few embellishments from outside the pack.) and I still have four full sheets left! Well, you may accuse me of being stingy with them but I promise I am holding on to a few of these papers because I plan to come back with more project ideas with these! OK that's enough about my frugality with pattern paper (especially Kaisercraft)...on to today's project.

Why Lake House? Well, it's the monsoons here in India--I've always associated the rains and gray skies with romantic melancholy, and the weather got me in the mood for a romantic album. This collection reminded me of overgrown gardens and desolate mansions (straight out of a Gothic romance) and seemed perfect for the season! I can use it for couple pictures, maybe! Hah!

If you have been following my blog/FB page you must have noticed vertical albums aren't my thing--I am not a fan because of multiple reasons: I prefer square and landscape albums design-wise, I find these large vertical albums exhausting to sustain creativity for, and the usual 12 sheets of pattern paper that you get in exclusive designer paper packs are not enough for most vertical albums. 

I still went with these dimensions because of this one thing--the floral fountain sticker! OMG, I am still in love with it! Isn't it gorgeous! There was not way I was going to cut that up!

The album cover measures 6x8 inches and the pages are 5x7 inches. 

That's a Tim Holtz book plate on the spine--I've stayed away from a charm dangle because I did not want the focus to shift from the shadow box lookalike front cover...which I had been planning ever since I saw the fountain sticker! Now, it's a different story that after putting it together and sealing it up I thought of a number of other ways of making/decorating the cover :/

Isn't this pattern gorgeous? I loved it!

Here are a few pictures of the pages--there are two page styles, alternated.

I have left the inner flaps bare as of now because I am not sure what size the photo mats should be--it'll depend on which pics I plan to use finally :D Also because this paper is so pretty!

I used a Couture Creations Intricutz Die for the borders here--I did not want to adhere them down but they seemed too flimsy to be used as pockets.

The borders are from the sticker sheet. I made the flowers using a Sizzix flower and leaf die and Tim Holtz Tattered Florals dies (I used the two smaller petals only). Ah! the joy of a new tool/die!

This is the FIRST time that I left the inside covers of an album bare! I wanted this to be a clean and simple album because the cover can seem little over the top! ;)
